One of the ways the LA system allows you to control who can register for a particular program is by requiring that the member had already registered for a previous program. This works naturally when we open registration for a new season to Current Players because the current players were registered for the previous seasons. Registering Probies and Subs is a different matter because we are inviting these guys, often for the first time. To group these guys into a list that can be used as a qualifying criteria for an LA registration, we simply add them to a dummy registration.
For example, if we wish to invite John Doe to sub for Season 6, here are the steps...
REMEMBER - ALWAYS MAKE SURE SOMEONE IS NOT ALREADY IN THE DATABASE BEFORE YOU ASSUME HE IS NOT AND YOU ADD HIM A SECOND TIME!
start by seeing who, if anyone, is on the "Season 6 - Sub Invitees" list...
go to Admin > Members > Registration System
highlight "Season 6 - Sub Invitees€‹" and press the "List" button
assuming John Doe is not on the list, make sure he has been added as a member in the LA database
go to Admin > Members > Lookup Members
enter "Doe" in the Last Name field; the Member Directory page will open
if John Doe is not in the database, add him; if he is, click on his name to open his profile page
click on the Registration tab; look in the large gray "Current Registrations" box to make sure John Doe is not already registered for "Season 6 - Sub Invitees"
open the "Register in a Program" drop-down list and select "Season 6 - Sub Invitees"; a pop-up window will open; if it does not open automatically, press the gray "Register" button
a Registration Wizard opens in the pop-up window; UNCHECK "Send Registration Confirmation?", scroll down and press the blue Submit button; the Registration Review page will open
on the Registration Review page, press the green "Complete" button; the Registration Review page will close
scroll to bottom of John Doe's profile page and press the blue "Submit" button
